The archive as memory

A journalistic archive is only worth something if no one can edit it afterward. Here there is no quiet cleanup, no silent deletion of inconvenient articles, every published text remains exactly as it appeared on the day it was published, with its date, its byline and its content intact. The temptation to correct the past is constant in any newsroom, a fact that ages badly, a source that later turns out less solid than expected, a phrasing that is uncomfortable today. Resisting that temptation is part of the method, not an accident.

This space gathers everything published, organised by year and month, with no later curation and no editorial hierarchy imposed after the fact. No article is permanently featured, no piece is hidden because it no longer suits. The order is chronological, mechanical, indifferent to what each text came to mean afterward for the reputation of whoever wrote it or whoever appears in it. A publication that erases its own record has no authority to demand memory from anyone else.

Nine months after an article is published, it is still there, with the same date, the same headline and the same byline, accessible just as easily as the day it went up. No need to request a copy or write to anyone to consult it. That permanent availability is itself a form of accountability, a publication cannot point the finger at others if it is not willing to leave its own texts open to scrutiny indefinitely.
